Whole Foods price comparisons show it's now even cheaper than traditional supermarket chains.

The Morning News http://ift.tt/2wGNUV4

The New York Times went shopping at the Columbus Circle Whole Foods last week and this week to see how much prices have dropped since Monday's much-anticipated Amazon takeover. Overall, they nabbed a 14 percent savings on a trip that included butter, bananas, eggs, avocados, and almond butter.

Bloomberg took a longer grocery list to the Whole Foods on East 57th St., and scored even bigger savings on apples, fish, beef, and chicken: 29 to 43 percent.

That's great news for omnivores, but it's bad news for other grocery chains. As The Huffington Post saw, the prices at Whole Foods were already quite competitive with traditional supermarkets—and are now, in some cases, actually cheaper.
