The S&P 500 was down 0.6% and the Dow Jones industrial average eased 0.5%. Volume was briskly mixed in the stock market today, up 21% on the Nasdaq and 9% lower on the NYSE, compared with Friday's opening action. Oil prices gained after the start of trade, with the U.S. benchmark West Texas intermediate up almost 2%
