Wrapping Up The Second Quarter Of 2017

INO.com Traders Blog http://ift.tt/2sarLZz Hello MarketClub members everywhere. As expected the stock market is headed higher today after yesterday's sell-off. However, trading volume is decidedly low heading into the long 4th of July weekend. Let’s take a look at where the markets stand and where they are finishing up the 2nd quarter of 2017. Key levels to watch next […]

Should We Believe The 'Transitory' Story?

INO.com Traders Blog http://ift.tt/2u6YLDx The bond market may have stopped listening to the Federal Reserve, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't know what the voting members of its monetary policy committee are thinking. What's clear is that they're not as united as they were at their last meeting just two weeks ago, when they voted nearly unanimously to raise […]

Major Support At SPY $240 - Use That As Your Guide

One Option Trading Blog http://ift.tt/2ttpIDl Posted 9:20 AM - Yesterday we saw a heavy wave of selling. Profit-taking in tech stocks spilled over to the S&P 500. QQQ breached key technical support levels and we can expect more weakness. Support at QQQ $139.50 failed easily and major horizontal support at $138 also failed. The next support level is $136 and then the 100-day MA at $134.80. The S&P 500 has major technical support at $240. That is the 50-day moving average and it is the breakout from May. It touched that support briefly and the market bounced. SPY resistance is at $242 and $243. This morning …

Market Will Be Flat Until FOMC Minutes Next Wednesday

One Option Trading Blog http://ift.tt/2sUn4Wy Posted 9:00 AM ET - Tuesday and Wednesday we saw Q2 window dressing. The big decline was immediately erased yesterday and these moves won't show up on a chart a few weeks from now. We're in a news vacuum and the volume will decline ahead of the Fourth of July. Swing traders should have been able to ride out the storm. Out of the money bullish put spreads give the stock plenty of room to move around. As long as technical support is maintained stick with the position and let time decay work in your favor. This is a great income …

Tech Will Rebound - Window Dressing Is Over

One Option Trading Blog http://ift.tt/2sRCAT8 Posted 9:30 AM ET - Yesterday we saw another wave of selling and tech stocks closed on the low of the day. Settlement is T+3 and Q2 window dressing should be over. Before we see a decent bounce the market is likely to test the downside this morning. If the dip is brief and shallow we will grind higher the rest of the day – be ready to jump in. If the market takes longer to find support the bottoming process might take a couple of days. QQQ $138 is a major support level. The news is extremely light and the …
