The market checked the bid early in the day and the damage was relatively contained. A strong 150 point S&P 500 rally ensued and stocks were off to the races. A good chunk of those gains were erased in the last 20 minutes on news that the Senate was not able to pass the stimulus bill. They did so last night and now it rests with the House.
