US Treasury bonds are still the ultimate winner, in spite of the balance sheet problems the US government faces. As the chart below illustrates, 20+ year Treasury bonds are outperforming every other major asset class year to date. Add to that the fact that the Treasury bond market is most capable of absorbing large amounts of capital, and you have a market that is in especially high demand. How long will it last?
